Step-by-step guide

How to create a digital invitation in 15 minutes

From an empty account to every guest holding their own personal invitation. Follow these 8 steps; you can stop at any point and your draft is saved.

  1. Step 1: Create your free account

Open Elvyte and choose Continue with Google. No card is needed.

    • Your account starts on the Free plan: one invitation for up to 5 guests, which never expires.
    • Confirm your email address when asked; it is needed before you send your first invitation.

Tip: Start on the Free plan and send yourself and a few close family members a test invitation before buying a pass.

  2. Step 2: Pick a design for your occasion

Browse the design marketplace and filter by occasion: wedding, engagement, birthday, naming ceremony and more.

    • Open any design to see it full screen and animated, exactly as guests will.
    • Each card shows which pass includes the design: Classic designs are free, Studio and Signature designs come with paid passes.
    • Save designs you like as favourites to compare them later.
  3. Step 3: Make it yours in the editor

Change names, dates, venues, wording, photos, colours and fonts. Every field is editable.

    • Add each event (haldi, mehendi, sangeet, ceremony, reception) with its own date, time, venue, dress code and map link.
    • Pick a font for each piece of text, and turn sections of the design on or off.
    • Your work is saved as a draft, so you can come back and finish it later.

Tip: Paste a Google Maps link for each venue so guests can get directions in one tap.

  4. Step 4: Preview it like a guest

Switch to the preview to see the invitation on a phone-sized and a desktop-sized screen.

    • Check spellings, dates and times; tap the map links and the Add to calendar button.
    • Most guests will open the invitation on a phone, so give the phone view the most attention.
  5. Step 5: Publish and add your guests

Choose Publish, give the invitation a name, then type or paste your guest names.

    • Put one name per line or separate names with commas. Copying a column from Excel or Google Sheets works.
    • Each guest gets a personal link, and their invitation opens with their own name on it.
    • You can give the invitation its own address, made from your names and the date, so links look personal too.

Tip: Use the name the guest will recognise, such as "Sharma Uncle & family", since that is exactly what the invitation will say.

  6. Step 6: Send each link on WhatsApp or any app

Write your message once and send it on WhatsApp, Telegram, email or SMS.

    • Use placeholders such as {{guest_name}} and {{invitation_link}}; they are filled in for each guest.
    • Choose WhatsApp next to a guest and WhatsApp opens with the message ready to send.
    • Or copy any link and share it however you like.
  7. Step 7: Track opens and RSVPs

Your guest list shows who has opened their invitation and how each guest has replied.

    • Guests answer on the invitation: accept, not sure yet or decline, with how many people are coming and a message.
    • Export the guest list as a CSV file for your caterer or venue.
  8. Step 8: Make changes at any time

Venue changed? Edit the invitation and choose Update for guests; everyone sees the new details.

    • Misspelt a name? Choose Fix name to send a corrected link; the old one stops working.
    • Add more guests later and each gets a link of their own.
